In the deafening silence, I could hear the children crying

I tried to wake up to a cruel world but then realized it is not a good idea

There were politicians shouting and scientists running experiments

There were musicians coying and the rest pretending to be indifferent

There were people in the street protesting murder and the rest

There were emotions that ran high in the midst of a feeling of loss

But then feelings remain undefined and likely unsatisfied

There were people who did not have a clue but they knew better than most

There were people with knowledge who appeared ignorant

I tried to open my eyes but it appeared sewed shut for ever

I tried to think but my brain had departed a long time ago

I tried to move but then it took energy that was not available

I tried to dream but it needed disconnection from reality

For reality was real and dreams, apparently not

I saw images from the past and figures from the future

I could travel in time till I drop dead forever

I could float in the air and defy gravity

Only till I fall into the depth of ignorance

I could imagine a world that worked for everybody

But I am sure I don’t want to live such as classes mattered

As democracies die and autocrats rise to capture the imagination

Guys with hair and gals less so, became one for the same

The sun rose again and the moon descended to hell

As if it will happen again and again

Time is limited, ambitions less so

Legacy needs the recording of history

As the feeble checkout and the strong make speeches

It is clear that humans can’t go anywhere
