Make Cricket international and save the World forever.
The only game left in the World that can claim to be truly international is Cricket. However, skewed resources and country sizes have led to domination by a few countries, including India and Australia. A truly international game cannot have such domination. BCCI and ICC have to consciously try to spread the game. Except for the Dutch, continental Europe has been missing. And except for Guyana, South America has also been a no-show. The West Indies has been sidelined, hopefully tactically amid signs of a rising United States. But there is a lot of potential in Southeast Asia and Africa waiting to be realized. They need investment and those with resources should attempt to make the game universal.
India’s star bowler is trained by a Pakistani legend. Such is the power of the game, countries simply disappear, and humanity rises. As they shake hands with each other, win or lose, there is a sense of admiration for those who performed and empathy for those who will come back later. As the leather meets the willow, it can erase sorrow for billions, albeit for a few hours. As they awake the next day, the grind starts and the only thing to look forward to is the next game, in which their failed heroes may perform again. Such is the power of the game, it can transcend religions, gender and age, abundance and dearth of money, race and color of skin, and everything else.
Cricket, the last hope for humanity to unite again, needs to be spread across the universe.
